Yesterday, well-know leaker @evleaks said that HTC M8’s design will be strikingly similar to the one of its predecessor, the HTC One, also adding that the next-gen HTC flagship might be launched late March. Now we get to see the first leaked photo of the HTC M8.
The spy shot leaked online courtesy of @HTCFamily_RU showing that the M8 features two cameras, dual-LED flash, and that it looks a lot like the HTC One.
Not long ago, the journalists at Bloomberg said that HTC One’s successor would sport two rear-facing cameras and two flash LEDs and the alleged M8 photo matches the said report. What’s even more interesting about the leak is that the fingerprint sensor is nowhere to be found on the back of the device, which means that it either has it placed on the front panel or it doesn’t have one at all.
If the picture below proves real, it means that @evleaks’ rumor saying that the M8 bears a “striking” resemblance to the One was accurate extending the leaker’s run of true reports. As you can see the handset caught on photo gas the same plastic stripes at top and bottom as the One.
@HTCFamily_RU also revealed what it seems to be an HTC M8 sketch. Even though it doesn’t add anything new to the information we have about the device, the sketch confirms that the phone will have on-screen buttons.
Anyway, keep in mind that nothing is official until HTC says so, therefore we are advising you to take the rumors with a pinch of salt.
There are whispers saying that the Taiwan-based phone maker will introduce the M8 (most likely under the name of HTC One 2014) during an event held in New York late March. Sources close to the matter say that HTC M8 will debut in four body colors and that all will be available from day one. The phone is expected to run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, customized with HTC’s Sense 6 UI.
