HTC One Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA Update Now Being Pushed to Canadian Users

The Android 4.4.2 OTA update for HTC One is now rolling out in Canada, despite talk of delay. Earlier this week, HTC’s Jason Mackenzie said on the company’s website that the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the North American owners of the HTC One might be delayed another week or two, as they still need some work to be done.

Well, we are glad to announce you that the HTC One Android 4.4.2 OTA update is now being pushed to the Canadian owners and it appears to be rolling out on schedule. Even though there’s no official confirmation regarding the said Android 4.4.2 update, lots of users are reporting they are already receiving the update on their HTC One units. It seems that Bell, Rogers, TELUS, Virgin, SaskTEL and Wind are all rolling the HTC One Android 4.4.2 update as we speak.

The Android 4.4.2 update for HTC One arrives with Sense 5.5 and a couple of HTC-specific tweaks, aside of specific KitKat goodies like transparent status bar and white status bar icons.

As usual, the HTC One Android 4.4.2 OTA update is being rolled out in stages, therefore some of you might now be able to download and install it right away. If you haven’t received the system update message in the notification area yet, you might be lucky get the update after you perform a manual check. In order to do so you have to navigate to Settings > About Phone > System update > Check for updates.

Since we are seeing the HTC One KitKat update being rolled out by the Canadian carriers, we have strong reasons to believe that the US carriers will also release it in the next few days. The worst case scenario, the Android 4.4.2 update for HTC One will hit the US in one – two weeks, just like Mackenzie announced on Wednesday.

Are there any Canadian HTC One owners among you? Have you guys received the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update? If so, through what carrier?
