If you are among the first customers who ordered the HTC One M8 Google Play Edition, you might want to check your email inbox, as other customers are reporting that Google mailed them saying that their unit was shipped to them. In fact, there are a handful of redditors who claim that they already got their hands on the HTC One M8 GPE.
HTC One M8 Google Play Edition was officially introduced March 25, synchronized with the debut of the standard model, with a Play Store shipping targed of 2-3 weeks. Furthermore, Google has updated the HTC One M8 Play Edition order page, saying that the smartphone leaves their “warehouse by April 15, 2014,” meaning that if you place your order now you might get your hands on the terminal in a little over a week.
It seems that the customers who already got their HTC One M8 Google Play Edition units shipped have placed their order before the end of March, so if you to ordered your M8 GPE in April you might still have to wait a few more days.
As you may know, hardware-wise the HTC One M8 Google Play edition is identical to the standard model, sporting the same quad-core 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB storage, 1080p 5-inch Super LCD3 display, Duo 4MP UltraPixel Camera, Boomsound speakers, and 2,600 mAh battery. Just like the standard One M8, the Google Play Edition is running Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, but it ditches HTC’s Sense 6 interface over stock-Android.
