HTC has launched the mini model smartphone that’s based on HTC One M8. The new device is called the HTC One Mini 2 and it should be shipped out in June 2014.
The One Mini 2 device is very similar to its bigger brother in both specs and looks. This new so called ‘mini’ device’s display measures around 4.5 inches, which is only 0.5 inches smaller than the HTC One M8 model.
HTC held the event in London earlier where they also released the HTC One Mini 2 specs list: a 4.5 inch Super LCD2 720p display, a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, support for an additional 128GB storage via external microSD, Adreno 305 GPU, 13MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, LED flash, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, NFC, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen protection, HTC Sense UI, Android 4.4.2 KitKat and a non-removable 2110 mAh battery.
The frontal 5MP camera packed on the One Mini 2 is the same model as the one on the HTC One M8 device, it can capture video at 1080p.
HTC One Mini 2 will be available starting with June 2014 in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. There is no official released date nor availability info on its U.S. launch. The colors available for the One Mini 2 are as follows: Glacial Silver, Gunmetal Grey and Amber Gold.
Some features from HTC One M8 are packed in the One Mini 2, too, so you shouldn’t be surprised when you will learn that it has the HTC BoomSound, HTC BlinkFeed, ZOE app and multiple other great features that were only recently packed on the M8 model.
There are no official details regarding the smartphone’s release. More info will hopefully be released when the Taiwanese company ships out the device to carriers all over the world.
