It’s not the first time we hear about the HTC One Mini, a smartphone that was previously known for its M4 codename, but it’s the first time we hear that at least one US carrier will have it in its portfolio. As you probably know the HTC One Mini will be for the HTC One flagship what the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is for the original Galaxy S4 announced by the South Korean company in March.
Anyway, the HTC Developer known on Twitter as LabTooFer has confirmed what the rumor mill suggested over the past few months: the HTC M4 will hit the market as HTC One Mini.
Moreover, the same dev, is saying that the HTC One Mini will hit T-Mobile, but he didn’t reveal when the mid-ranger will hit the US carrier. He said that “I’m not sure that Verizon will launch One Mini in near future…T-Mobile USA will have it for sure.” Anyway, LabTooFer’s statement is not ruling out the HTC One Mini debut at Verizon, all it does is confirm that the smartphone will hit T-Mobile.
The HTC One Mini will hit the market in an attempt to both compete against Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Mini and to attract the customers who can’t afford the HTC One flagship, but want a smartphone with decent technical specifications and a premium look and feel.
Rumor has it that the HTC One Mini will be powered by a dual-core processor, most likely the Snapdragon 400 chipset with two Krait cores clocked at 1.7 GHz and Adreno 305 GPU. Sources say that the mid-ranger will boast 2 GB of RAm and a 4.3-inch HD display with Super LCD3 technology.
The main selling point of the HTC One Mini will most likely be its aluminium case that borrows the design lines of the HTC One flagship. Of course, it will come with a non-removable battery.
There are a lot of speculations regarding the camera mounted on the back of the HTC One Mini. Some say that the smarpthone will pack an 8 megapixel camera, while others say that it will be equipped with the same 4 megapixel UltraPixel camera of the HTC One.
