The HTC One is definitely one of the most popular handsets of the year 2013, but as the flagship manufactured by the Taiwanese company is getting older, the media is starting to focus on its successor. Rumor has it that HTC One follow-up is known internally as HTC M8 and, according to @evleaks, it will be the company’s first handset to run Sense 6.0 UI.
Just like it happens with any unreleased high-end Android smartphone, the M8 rumors and speculations start surfacing way ahead its release date and today we get to see the first leaked photos of the alleged HTC M8.
The leaked photos reveal that HTC M8’s back is a reminiscent of HTC One’s, but there’s also a square hole on the rear end, which might indicate that it will sport a fingerprint sensor like the One Max. Still, the M8’s fingerprint sensor is placed above the camera, while One Max’s is situated below the shutter.
Of course, there’s no way to confirm that we are actually looking at the M8, therefore we are advising you to take the leaked photos posted by ePrice with a pinch of salt. Even if the photos prove to be true, they aren’t revealing anything besides that the handset will pack a fingerprint sensor.
The rumor mill speculates that the HTC M8 will come with a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 3 GB of RAM, and Sense 6.0 UI out of the box. For the time being there’s no info about its primary camera, but it was reported that it might see the light of day in Q1 2014. Probably we’ll get to see it showcased at Mobile World Congress 2014 event in Barcelona. We promise to return with more details as soon as they hit the web.
