HTC Rezound Now Available for Free on Verizon

If you are looking forward in getting a new Android based smartphone on a low price tag, then I have something that might sound good for you as Verizon is now offering the HTC Rezound for free. Of course I am talking about the on-contract version of the Rezound, but that doesn’t matter so much especially if we are talking about a free 4G LTE device. Now, if I have aroused your attention, you should know that this is a limited time offer, so you should hurry up in deciding whether to get this mid-range handset, or wait for other offers to be revealed.

I’m saying that because CES is almost here, which means that many smartphones and tablets will be released during the next few weeks and months, so the low range and relatively old devices will be made available on low prices, or as in our case, for free. Therefore, if you are not a picky customer, or if you are just an entry-level user, then the free Verizon HTC Rezound should be the perfect choice for you.

The Rezoung has been released way back in November 2011, so its specs and features are decent but not high end. For those who don’t know, the phone comes with a large 4.3 inch display, a dual core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon CPU, an 8 MP camera on the back, 16 GB of internal storage memory, a 1,620 mAh battery, microSD card slot and 4G support. Unfortunately the device is featuring the ICS Android 4.0 OS and there are no words about a possible Jelly Bean update, though there are numerous Android 4.1 based custom ROMs available.

Now, the HTC Rezound is available for free on Verizon but only if you agree to sign a new two year contract. The offer is valid for the new customers and also for the existing ones and doesn’t even include b.s. rebates of any kind. Remember though that this is a limited time offer only.

So, what do you say, are you interested in getting the HTC Rezound from Verizon, or you rather wait for a more powerful and appealing Android powered device, which could be announced at CES?

I got a Rezound in December 2011 and within a month they dropped the price $100.00. With my loyalty discount and a bill credit from VZW, my base cost on the Rezound was only $149! It’s been worth every penny. While the author may consider it an “old” device or “mid-range”, I’m able to run every current app without any lag or problems and that’s on a stock ROM. Also, since it’s still running Android 4.0, I get to play flash videos in browsers with no problems. 4.1 takes that away because Adobe decided to not provide a version of Flash for 4.1. Unless you’re a power user that must have the latest and greatest, if you’re in the market to get this one for free with a contract, you won’t be disappointed.
