HTC Rezound gets a leaked Android 4.0 update
Every day seems to be a good day for an HTC leak and this one is no exception. It seems like the Taiwanese manufacturer keeps up the good work it is doing with the Android 4.0 updates if we are to take into account this latest leak. After the HTC Sensation and Sensation XE it is time for the HTC Rezound to get a more or less official update to Android 4.0 ICS, and like all updates it is aimed at fixing some of the present bugs and adds some extra functionality.
This particular leak for the HTC Rezound comes in an Android 4.0 ICS flavor and it also brings HTC’s Sense skin, although the latter is only the 3.6 version. The bad news is that there is no way of knowing if this is going to be the official version of the update that Verizon and HTC are going to push to the smart phone. This leak does however contain updated radios, which should mean that even though it is not final, it is close to the end product.
If you want to flash this update you should first read the lines below. If you happen to have a stock device you can flash the original leak without any worries. If you however have a rooted device running on custom software you will need to flash a version of the leaked ROM that has already been rooted. You can find both versions on the Android Police website. Also keep in mind that flashing any software other than the official one means losing your warranty and this particular not yet fully finalized version comes with some risks on its own.
The news of an Android 4.0 update for the HTC Rezound is nothing new as the device was given the green light for the update from launch, so the only question that remains is when it will be officially available. Other than this, if this leak is the final version I guess some people won’t mind flashing it a couple of days early. In any case you should keep an eye on the updates if you own an HTC Rezound as we would see fit for Verizon to deliver the update somewhere in early April.
