HTC UK confirms Official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OTA Update is now available for HTC One
HTC UK has officially announced that the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update is now available for the UK-based HTC One smartphones. Simply check the Software Update menu of your device and you will be able to upgrade the phone in no time with the latest build of Jelly Bean firmware.
Since the Twitter account that announced the OTA Update is the UK edition, it means that the news is for HTC One users who live in the United Kingdom. So, the new firmware update will improve several areas of your device, section such as the launcher, widgets, lock screen widgets, tweaks for other small apps and tons of other new features.
Check to see if the update is available by opening Settings, then About, open Software Update and tap the “Check Now” button.
Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for HTC One UK has the firmware version set to 2.24.401.1 and it measures 416.45MB in size. Make sure that you’re using a Wi-Fi connection while downloading the required files. After the download is complete, simply follow the on-screen instructions and complete the update in under 10 minutes.
It seems like the new update will add new Lock Screen widgets support, on-screen ‘menu key’ can now be disabled, quick settings appear in the notification bar, BlinkFeed supports Instagram, brand new video highlights, you can lock AF / AE in camera application, etc.
The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OTA Update for HTC One has already reached other European and Asian regions. Along with the HTC-based new features, you will also get the Jelly Bean 4.2.2-native DayDream function, which runs mostly as a screensaver. You can enable it like this: Open Settings, then Display and tap the ‘Daydream’ section.
