Huawei has just introduced its flagship smartphone for 2013, the Ascend P6 that will take on the other high-end smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, Sony Xperia Z. The Huawei Ascend P6 is not only the world’s slimmest smartphone, but it also features a good looking metallic body.
Looking a lot like Sony’s Xperia Z, the Huawei Ascend P6 definitely has the likes to become a popular smartphone, of course if the price is right. Talking about the price, the China-based phone maker failed to reveal the price tag of the Huawei Ascend P6, but a moth old report is indicating that the flagship device will be quite affordable. With a rumored price of around $350 contract-free, the Huawei Ascend P6 will become a good options for the customers who want a high-end smartphone but can’t afford the likes of Galaxy S4, HTC One, or Xperia Z.
The alloy edges that surround the metallic body of the Huawei Ascend P6 are a reminiscent of Apple’s iPhone 5, especially that they come with those indentations meant to improve the signal quality.
To be honest, the Huawei Ascend P6 technical specs are not that high-end judging by 2013 standards. While the big players of the smartphone market rushed in to fit full HD displays on their flagship devices, the Ascend P6 comes with a 4.7-inch LCD display with HD resolution, which results into a pixel density of 312 ppi.
Did I mention that the Huawei Ascend P6 is only 6.18 mm thin? Oh, yes I did, but I didn’t told you that it weighs 120 grams. The flagship smartphone of the Chinese company also packs a 2,000 mAh battery. Even though 2,000 mAh might not seem much to you, learn that Huawei integrated power saving technology to increase the battery life of the Ascend P6.
Just in case you were wondering, the Huawei Ascend P6 is powered by a quad-core Huawei K3V2 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and helped by 2 GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 8 GB of internal flash storage, which can be expanded with up to 32 GB, courtesy of the microSD card slot. Oh, I almost forgot, the Ascend P6 is only 6.19 mm thin.
On the back of the smartphone there’s an 8 megapixel camera with BSI and F2.0 aperture. The rear-facing camera of the Ascend P6 also sports a LED flash, 4 cm macro view, and is capable of recording full HD videos. On the front panel, the Ascend P6 accommodates a camera with full HD video recording support, while its 5 megapixel sensor would make it quite god for “selfies.”
Because Huawei wants the Ascend P6 to be considered one of the best Android phones around, the handset leaves the factory gates pre-loaded with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, customized with the company’s proprietary Emotion UI 1.6. The custom interface developed by Huawei brings features like Me Widget, MagicTouch, SmartReading, and a new panorama mode for the 8 megapixel camera.
The official press statement reveals that the Huawei Ascend P6 release date has been scheduled for June and that the new terminal will be available in three body colors: Pink, White, and Black. With all these being said, you should also want to know that the Ascend P6 is only 6.18 mm thin.
