I don’t know how many of you guys care about how thin a handset is, but if there were a crown for the thinnest smartphone in the world, then it will belong to a device created by a Chinese manufacturer, the Huawei Ascend P6-U06.
The smartphone has been approved by the Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center MIIT, which is the Chinese FCC, and it’s nor the world’s thinnest smartphone, title which until now has been held by the Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra. The Alcatel device had 6.45mm in thickness, while the new Huawei Ascend P6-U06 has 6.18mm.
With this measurement, the Huawei Ascend P6-U06 will officially become the thinnest smartphone ever released on the market. That in case another one doesn’t get launched before it as Oppo was also said that intends to beat the record with its R809T.
The Huawei Ascend P6-U06 wights 120 grams and it does appear to be very thin, as you can see in the featured image.
Besides the its main attraction, the Huawei Ascend P6-U06 also comes with other interesting characteristics. The handset features a 4.7-inch touchscreen display with a 720p resolution. It’s underpinned by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, and it includes 2 GB of RAM. Other than this, we can also mention that it sports a 5 MP camera, 32 GB of on-board storage, and runs Android 4.1.2.
The Huawei Ascend P6-U06 has support for dual-SIM, meaning that it will most certainly be sold in the Asian markets. However, even though the company has not officially announce it, the smartphone might hit the markets outside Asia, as well.
The Huawei Ascend P6-U06 seems like a good smartphone and it would be nice to see it available in Europe and North America, especially because it will probably be sold at an affordable price.
