  1. Download Odin.
  2. Extract and install it on your computer.
  3. Download the CWM recovery or the TWRP recovery for your SGS3 from here; choose the recovery image that you prefer the most.
  4. Save the file on your computer (do not extract).
  5. Then, on the PC open Odin.
  6. Turn off your phone so that you can enter it in download mode.
  7. For download mode reboot the device and while powering on press and hold the Volume Down and Home buttons.
  8. Once in download mode, connect the handset with the PC (Odin must be opened) by using its USB cable.
  9. Now, on Odin the “added” message should be displayed and the ID:COM section should be yellow.
  10. If different, you must re-install the drivers on the computer and then re-do the above steps.
  11. Click on ”PDA”.
  12. Choose the recovery file you have downloaded before.
  13. Don’t make any other changes.
  14. Click on “start”.
  15. When the process ends, on Odin the “pass” message should be displayed.
  16. Remove the USB cable and reboot your smartphone as we are done.
