CyanogenMod team is continuously working on releasing the best Android 4.4.2 builds for all Android devices. It seems like the International Galaxy S4 will soon start to receive new builds of CM for all of its users to enjoy the latest KitKat experience.
Up until now most Galaxy S4 models support the CM11 KitKat builds, but there was one that still didn’t receive such official build, the Galaxy S4 International. Today I’ve checked the CM Download page to see if there are any new CM 11 build available for download. When I’ve reached the SGS4 I9500 section I noticed the new files which confirmed that the Experimental CM 11 ROM is now available and the Nightlies builds aren’t very far away.
CM 11 EXPERIMENTAL for I9500 is a custom ROM that is based on AOSP Android 4.4.2 that offers you the closest experience to a pure KitKat OS. It took so long for this new ROM to be made available for Galaxy S4 because the device uses an Exynos CPU, a chip that hasn’t received too much support when it came to CM builds.
Galaxy S4 I9505 LTE model already supports the CM 11 Nightly builds for some time. For the I9500 model we will need to wait until the Experimental builds will be thoroughly tested and be released without any major errors or bugs.
The new files are available from CyanogenMod’s web page here. Installing this new ROM is easy, as you only need a rooted I9500 Galaxy S4 with a custom Recovery installed on it. Simply download the ROM, then the Gapps zip and place them on your phone’s internal storage. Flash the files after applying Factory Reset and that should be all before testing all of its new features.
