At this point, these are all rumors. Instead of sitting here and insulting Apple about how bad they're doing, why not give them the benifit of the doubt and wait till June? It's been 6 months since the iPhone 5 release, Apple has had plenty of time to work on something that is actually Revolutionary. Lets see what they show us in June. If they show us a 5S that is lacking in many features, than it is fair to state that Apple is truly falling behind in the smartphone market. We get your point! I've been seeing articles that look exactly identical to this one since September. There's no point in writing the same articles that have already been written and discussed about many times before. You should re-write this article in June after WWDC (most likely when next iPhone will be released). I'm pretty sure your going to change your opinion. The people working at Apple are extremely educated and talented in what they do. They're not idiots. They know what it takes to catch up to Android in their own unique way.
Have some faith!

Okay. I've had just about every flagship android device since the Nexus One and Galaxy S. I loved them all. I've had windows phones, blackberries, iOS devices. I really have no preference anymore. NFC is currently a gimmick to sell phones. I knew maybe two people that had compatible phones to "beam" to. Aside from google wallet, it's a gimmick. All smartphones are great in their own ways and not one is perfect. I currently have the iPhone 5 and I'm happy with it but won't be waiting in line for 12 hours to get the next one. Android is awesome but definitely has some flaws. The hardware needed to give you a lag free experience on even jellybean 4.2 will leave you running for your charger. And the incompatible apps was a headache. But still I love where android is going and I think with 5.0 key lime pie they may have a winner. What sucks about that? Over half the Androids on the market will never see the update due to carriers and manufacturers. iOS products all get the same update as well as all windows phones and blackberries. As much as I love the droid they need a uniform update to stay ahead. It's the hardware that gets android recognition now not the software. But at the least, any phone is the preference of the user. Some just take it much to personal.

Kevin you have NO idea what you're talking about. Apple has fallen behind big time!
Ex: iPhone 5 which came out not too long ago still doesn't have NFC for example which is on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus which has been out since 2011!
Bigger screens is another example. Android OS is also ALOT more advanced with what you can do with it (iOS is very restrictive).
"Everything can be called iPhone like"??? Maybe in the past but not now!
Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=dBYc20bB6LI&NR=1
Have a look at what Samsung has been doing in the way of innovation!!!
Apple has so many restrictions on it's devices. It's as if they want to tell you what you can and can't do with YOUR OWN phone!
http://www.techspot.com/news/42070-apple-changes-iphone-screws-to-deter-diy-repairs-mods.html
They even sunk so low as to change the screws!
All they want to do is sue others and control their customers when it comes to the use of their devices. If they focused that time and attention towards innovation they'd be much further ahead in the game!
Everyone keeps looking for design improvements with Apple time and time again and they keep getting disappointed. Even their iOS keeps getting released with flaws. iOS came out and many users lost their wi-fi (it was either grayed out so they could not turn it on or it just would not connect), or they lost their bluetooth. Apple maps was an epic fail! How can a giant like Apple release such flawed software? iOS 6 even had users face problems with their music:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4311301?start=0&tstart=0
And greed!!! Let's not start.
I guess they don't make enough from their devices, iTunes store and also licensing agreements, but they're so petty they even put a chip in their iPhone 5 charging cables to stop 3rd party manufacturers from making a buck!

I think being a fanboy is sad. But so is being opposite, I have an iPhone 5 and a HTC one x plus from my employer. I love the big screen. But I will always prefer the apple ecosystem. I honestly think no phone since iPhone 3G is revolutionary, bigger screen, faster processors are standard. Apple do market standard things as revolutionary so does everyone else. That's business, only diff apple do it better. The guy who wrote this can hate all he wants but APPLE REVOLUTIONED THE SMART, to the point everything else can honestly be called iPhone like. The diff between ios and android are too small for one to be king. I just prefer the ecosystem. Talk about fragmentation all you want, if I buy ANY popular app on ios I can be 100 it's gonna be compatible.
Don't like iPhone simple don't buy

A quick disclaimer: I am an Android convert, coming from the iPhone 5. I love it, but I am also not blind to the fact that iOS still does many things better than Android. Both server their own purposes.
When people refer to Android fragmentation, they are referring to the fact that less than 20% of all Android phones in existence are on the latest software because of carriers taking their sweet time in releasing it. I had to root my Galaxy S3 just to get it on 4.2, which has been out on the Nexus line for several months. That is the fragmentation, and on iOS, you don't have to worry about that.
I love Android, but they need to get that problem solved. Samsung makes its users suffer so they can crapify their version of Android past the point of recognition.
