Sony finally decided to update its Xperia Tablet S to Jelly Bean OS, as the device was still running on ICS; now even though we were expecting Android 4.2 instead, the Jelly Bean 4.1.1 firmware is still a major OS improvement as the latest features and apps are being included in the OTA update. The software has been released this morning in the United States, Canada and Latin America so those who own the Sony Xperia Tablet S device should be receiving the Jelly Bean touch anytime now.
Anyway, if you still haven’t received the OTA ROM, don’t panic as this is happening each time a new official update is being rolled out. Usually, the stock updates are being provided gradually and in phases which means that not all the Xperia Tablet S users from US, Canada, or Latin America will receive the Jelly Bean OS at the same time, some users will be able to install the software sooner than others. In rare cases you might have to wait weeks until the OS improvement is finally received by your tablet.
However, remember that you can also use a manual update tutorial for applying the Jelly Bean firmware, though the procedure will be quite complex (we will soon bring a suitable guide for you). Furthermore, a similar guide will have to be used by those who have rooted their Tablet S as then the OTA release will not be received.
Now, the present system update is quite important as it will bring Project Butter, Google Now, expanded Jelly Bean notifications, speed improvements and lot more features to your Sony Xperia Tablet S. Remember that the OS has been made available today in US, Canada and Latin America by Sony, so you can check for the same through your tablet’s system settings.
