Finally, all the Samsung Galaxy S3 users from US will receive the official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OTA update, as US Cellular (the other retails are already offering the ROM) and Samsung just announced that the highly-expected firmware will be released this month. I don’t know if this is just a coincidence, or those of US Cellular have been planned to launch the Jelly Bean flavor for the Galaxy S3 as a Christmas gift, but the most important thing is that the “waiting” is finally over.
Well, actually, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OTA update will be made available on December 21, this being the exact and the official announced release date for your US Cellular Galaxy S3. As usual not all the handsets will receive the OS on the mentioned date, but the software will be rolled out for all the devices until the year ends.
Being an official software released by Samsung and US Cellular, the Jelly Bean ROM will be OTA received, or if you want to use an alternative way for installing the update, you can use the KIES tool for the same. For the KIES you will have to use a Windows running computer and the phone’s USB cord.
Now, beside the default Android 4.1 Jelly Bean features, this update will bring Samsung’s own enhancements to the software meaning that you will be updating your US Cellular Galaxy S3 with a more powerful ROM. There will be upgrades and capabilities added or installed for the camera, “pop up play”, easy mode, blocking mode and usability, further info about the same being available on Samsung’s official web page.
That’s all for now, so prepare your phone for the big update, which once again, will be released on December 21th. Do tell us if the OTA update will be made available on the mentioned date, or if there are problems in receiving the ROM. Also, stay close as we will bring a step by step guide from which you will be able to learn how to manually install the official Jelly Bean OS on your US Cellular Samsung Galaxy S3.
