Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean VRBMA2 Firmware Leaked for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3

Update Samsung Galaxy S3 to Android 4.1.2 XXEMD3 Jelly Bean

It seems like Verizon has decided to take its time before releasing the official Jelly Bean update for their variant of Galaxy S3. But, that doesn’t necessarily stop developers from releasing leaked builds of Android 4.1.2 ROM to keep SGS3 owners happy and updated with the penultimate Jelly Bean operating system. The Android 4.2 JB update will possibly come out this summer for this device.

The leaked variant of Android 4.1.2 JB comes with VRBMA2 firmware and it has been posted on the XDA Developers forums. It is already rooted, it packs a custom recovery image, an unlocked bootloader, and it should be ready to install without ‘data wipe’ the device. Installing it on your device requires the assistance of an advanced Android user as you will have to flash the stock factory image, install a custom recovery and after that you will apply the root and bootloader unlock actions. All these steps should be taken in order to use this leaked Jelly Bean ROM on your smartphone.

There is no official word from Verizon regarding the release of their own official and final Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS. But, you can use this stock but unofficial JB ROM in order to experience some of the latest JB functions and features for your Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3.

Android 4.1.2 JB VRBMA2 leaked ROM comes with all its stock features except for the Premium Pack by Samsung. This means that there is no multi-view feature and some other small things that are currently present in the official Samsung Jelly Bean 4.1.2 ROM for the International variants of Galaxy S3 or Galaxy Note 2. If you want to install the VRBMA2 ROM firmware on your smartphone, then you can either use the XDA thread here or you can check our own guide (we will update the post when the guide is 100% ready to use), and learn how to flash the stock factory image, custom recovery and then root and and install unlocked bootloader for your device.

At the moment, this leak of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for Verizon SGS3 appeared before the T-Mobile and AT&T ones, which is somewhat surprising since Verizon where the ones that kept such releases / leaks ‘top secret’ which made its users, usually, the last ones to get the latest Android OS versions. However, this doesn’t mean that the official OTA update will arrive for Verizon SGS3 phones before all the other US Galaxy S3 variants.

Install this leaked Jelly Bean VRBMA2 firmware on your device and then tell us in comments if it works and if you found any bugs or buggy applications. Make sure to return to our web site in the next hour as I’ll post the full installation guide on how to flash Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean ROM on Verizon Galaxy S3.

And we probably won’t ever see the multi-view, premium pack upgrade on our devices… Samsung can’t release one version of an upgrade and say, “here it is…. take it or leave it..” And Verizon wants to lock their stuff as much as allowed by law without getting into any anti-trust suits, so the consumer will always be last in their book. (Verizon’s anyway…) Hell, I’m surprised there’s an Android 4.1.2 popping up leaked that’s not coming out 6 months after everyone else has… Seeing an “official” leaked soft/firmware upgrade by Verizon before anyone else is a shock in and of itself…
