So far Samsung, Sony, and HTC introduced their flagship smartphones for 2014, but, as you may know LG has yet to introduce a smartphone worthy of competing against the likes of Galaxy S5, Xperia Z2, or One M8. While the rumors about the LG G3 are piling up, now we have further proof that LG’s flagship might be an impressive handset.
Early reports have suggested that the LG G3 will somewhat outmatch Samsung’s Galaxy S5 when it comes to specifications, most of the sources pointing towards a Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixel) screen. The first proofs about LG G3’s QHD screen emerged about a month ago when a user agent profile leaked online.
Now, courtesy of MyLGCellPhones.com, we can look at the user agent profile of the Sprint LG G3 which is listed as LG LS990. Anyway, the alleged Sprint LG G3 LS990 seems to be sharing a lot of hardware components with the international model, the D850. If the reports prove true and the G3 does arrive with Quad HD screen resolution, then it’s likely that the South Korean phone maker will use their new 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 screen with an impressive pixel density of 530 ppi.
But there’s at least one interesting thing about the alleged LG LS990 UA profile: it lists a Snapdragon 800 chipset. As all its competitors are boasting about slightly updated Snapdragon 801 chipsets, it would be a disappointment to see the G3 being underpinned by the same Snapdragon 800 of the G2. For what it’s worth, the rumor mill suggested that the G3 will be one of the first smartphones to sport a Snapdragon 805 chipset.
Beside the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 chipset (most likely with quad-core Krait 400 CPU at 2.3 GHz) and the 1440×2560 screen resolution, the leaked user agent profile also revealed that the handset will have 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, support for microSD cards up to 64 GB, 13 MP primary camera, 2.1 MP user-facing camera, and that it will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box.
I terms of connectivity, we’ll get LTE, EVDO, IS2000, GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth. Even though they’re not listed in the UA profile, an NFC module and an IR blaster will also be included.
