The LG G3 was officially introduced by the South Korea-based phone maker on Tuesday. Even though the leaks and reports that made the headlines over the past couple of months revealed most of the LG G3 specs, there were still a couple of surprises left for the launch event.
Because most of you choose their smartphones based on their hardware platform we though we should talk about the LG G3 technical specifications.
Just like the rumor mill indicated, the LG G3 is underpinned by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset based on four Krait 400 CPU cores clocked at 2.5 GHz and a quad-core Adreno 330 GPU. The new smartphone also arrives with 2 GB of RAM for the 16 GB model and 3 GB of RAM for the 32 GB model, support for microSD cards up to 128 GB, and a 3,000 mAh battery that should be enough to keep it alive for around 36 hours.
LG’s new flagship smartphone features a 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS display with an amazing resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, 537 ppi, and a new technology called 3A that adapts the display’s power consumption depending on how you’re using the device. Even though it has a 5.5-inch display, the LG G3 is not way bigger than its main competitor, the Galaxy S5, measuring 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9mm and weighing 149 grams. Courtesy of the thin bezels around the display, the G3 has a screen to body ratio of 76.4%.

The secondary camera has a 2.1 MP module that received a larger sensor and a larger number of lenses.
Connectivity-wise, the LG G3 incorporates LTE Cat 4, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC, IR baster, and microUSB 2.0 (SlimPort).
The LG G3 is available in five body colors Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Moon Violet, Burgundy Red and it comes pre-loaded with Android 4.4.2 KitKat customized with LG’s own skin which brings features like Smart Keyboard, Smart Notice, Knock On, or Knock Code.
