The LG Nexus 5 release date nears, therefore, we will get to see more leaked photos and details about the new Google smartphone in the coming weeks.
After we saw a couple of days ago a Nexus 5 mock-up and a couple of Nexus 5 photos taken in a bar, today we get to look at what it seems to be the press photo of the LG handset. While the back seems to be identical with the one in the unofficial photos, the front panel looks a bit different. Compared to the device spotted at FCC and in the bar, the Nexus 5 spotted in the press photos rather looks like a device that is ready to hit the store shelves.
The photos that made the headlines last week didn’t reveal the earphone or the sensor above the display.
As you probably know, the Nexus 5 will be most likely based on LG G2’s hardware platform, therefore expect technical specs capable of making in one of the most powerful smartphones on the market. It looks like the Nexus 5 will sport a 5.2-inch full HD display, along with 2 GB of RAM and 16/32 GB of internal storage. There will be no microSD card support, so stop dreaming.
According to reports, the new smartphone will be underpinned by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset with four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU. There are two theories regarding Nexus 5’s camera: one saying that it will have the same 13 MP as LG G2 and the other claiming that the handset will sport a 9 MP shutter with UltraPixel/ClearPixel-like technology.
The Nexus 5 will be announced in the same time with Android 4.4 KitKat, so we could see the new smartphone in flash mid October. Anyway, according to information from case manufaturers, the Nexus 5 will become available for purchase by late October.
