As of today, the LG Optimus F5 i available in France. The company made an announcement yesterday according to which the smartphone, also known as the Verizon Lucid 2, will be released worldwide, with the first market to get it being France.
Besides France, the LG Optimus F5 will be released in other various regions in the following weeks such as Asia, South America, Central America and some former Soviet Republics. As for the price tag, the company did not mention anything until now, so we are still to find out how much it will cost in France. However, we expect that it will be sold at an affordable price with a new contract considering that the smartphone is not a flagship.
The LG Optimus F5 was announced at MWC 2013, which took place in Barcelona a couple of months ago. It comes with a 4.3-inch IPS screen that has a resolution of 960 x 540 and a pixel density of 256 ppi. IT’s powered by a Qualcomm dual-core CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz, and it also boasts 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, support for 4G LTE connectivity, a 5 MP rear facing camera, a 1.3 secondary shooter, a 2150 mAh battery and will be running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, which will come on top with several of LG’s own branded features such as QSlide, Live Zooming, Video Wiz and Qtranslator.
The hardware of the LG Optimus F5 is specific for the mid-range standard of 2013, except for the display’s resolution which is kind of low even for a mid range smartphone. In my opinion, this is the sort of device that gets launched without making too much fuss, will not be bought by many customers (at least in the important market), and will be soon forgotten. Also, this is the type of smartphone that will updated among the last by LG, but this is just me. What’s your opinion on this matter?
