The Mobile World Congress was the perfect place for the main companies out there to announce its plans for this year. LG made the same thing by revealing its latest devices, which are several Android based smartphones. Among them, we can mention the LG Optimus Vu (with is extremely large 5.3-inch display), the Optimus 4X HD3 and the new and highly rumored L-Style line.
The L-Style line is including the Optimus L3, L5 and L7 handsets. Furthermore, the L7 release date was speculated for the Canadian retail, Rogers. The exact date is still missing, only a few aspects being leaked. Anyway, the smartphone should be included in Rogers’s “Smartphone Lite” category, during the following months.
The LG Optimus L7 will be a mid-range smartphone, with decent specs, though it might be considered a little bit too slow. The best part is that it will be coming featuring the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, this being its main strength.
Beside this, the phone is bringing a large 4.3 inch display (TFT), a 1GHz single core processor and a poor 5 MP rear facing camera. The front facing camera is missing, so no video calls for us. As you can see the specifications are not spectacular, but it should please an entry level customer. The design is well done, the smartphone being only 8.7mm thick.
According to Rogers, the LG Optimus L7 should be released with an affordable price tag, probably under the usual Canadian three year commitment. This is not the only budget friendly device coming from LG, as we also have the Lucid, who was recently presented on Verizon with the rumored release date of March 29th.
But I’m guessing that we will know more in the coming days when an official statement is expected. So far, these are mostly rumors. Stay tuned for further details, as we will update you as soon as something fresh is being spotted.
