Samsung has just unveiled its new flagship device, the Galaxy S3, and its been touted as the most powerful smartphone in the world, though Meizu beg to differ. The S3 scored some impressive benchmarks, but they are not so impressive anymore after the guys from GsmArena ran the same tests on Meizu MX.
Both devices feature the same chipset, quad-core Exynos 4, clocked at 1.4Ghz, though Meizu MX managed to score 12,140, while the S3 only 11,878. HTC One X which sports a 1.5Ghz quad-core Tegra 3 only scored 9,989.
While Meizu scored better in the CPU and memory tests, which was kind of unexpected, it didn’t manage to surpass the S3 in graphics, considering it has a much lower resolution. At first sight it seems like Meizu did a better job with the Exynos 4 chipset than Samsung, though they really failed with graphics. But you should recall that these benchmark do not always reflect the actual reliability of a smartphone and there are many things to be considered. We should do an in-depth review of both smartphones to see which one does actually deserve the worlds’ best smartphone prize.
