Is no longer a mystery that the South Korean phone maker is working on premium Galaxy S5 variant called Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime. The Galaxy S5 Prime rumors surfaced early 2014, even before the launch of the current Galaxy S5, but since the leaks and reports intensified over the past few weeks we are tempted to believe that the Galaxy S5 Prime release date is getting closer.
Three new alleged Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime leaked photos surfaced online courtesy of Phone Arena. The publication received the spy shots from one of their “loyal readers,” so it’s recommended to take them with an adequate grain of salt. Phone Arena’s source also mentioned that the phone “is currently undergoing testing.”
If the rumors are to be believed, the Samsung Galaxy S5 prime will arrive with an aluminium body. As you can see in the photos below the alleged Galaxy S5 Prime misses the speaker grille on the back and has a different design for the Camera – LED flash – HR monitor area.
According to the latest reports the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime will arrive with a 5.3-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440) screen, helping the handset fight against LG’s G3 flagship which sports a 5.5-inch QHD screen. Rumor has it that the Galaxy S5 Prime specs list would also include a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, 3 GB of RAM, and the same 16 MP ISOCELL camera sensor. There were some voices saying that S5 Prime might arrive with an Optical Image Stabilization module for the camera unit.
Of course, Samsung will want to keep the fingerprint sensor to compete against Apple’s TouchID and they will probably launch the smartphone pre-loaded with Android 4.4.3 which is not expected to bring major improvements to the company’s TouchWiz UI.
