Back in December, the Moto G Android 4.4.2 update was pushed to the users based in North America, soon after the same firmware update was made available for Motorola’s Moto X flagship. According to Motorola’s website, the Android 4.4.2 update for Moto G is now being rolled out in UK and Germany, too.
Besides bringing a couple of Moto G-specific changes and improvements, the Android 4.4.2 update also comes with loads of KitKat goodies like restyled nav and status bards, new full-screen mode, emoji, improved security, or improved RAM management.
After you update your Moto G to Android 4.4.2 you will also be able to enjoy the new phone dialer, Photo editing in the Gallery app (including filter effects, advanced cropping and color, exposure, and contrast adjustments), Cloud Printing, SMS/MMS support for the Hangouts app, and added support for Square credit card reader.
As it happens with most software updates, Android 4.4.2 for Moto G will be rolled out in phases, therefore you might not be able to download and install it right away. If the system update notification didn’t pop up on your Moto G, you might also want to perform a manual check. In order to do so you should head to Settings > About Phone > Software update > Check now. If this move won’t bring Android 4.4.2 on your Moto G, it means that the update is not yet ready for your device and that you will have to wait a bit more.
Are there any UK or Germany-based Moto G owners readying this? Did you guys receive the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on your terminal? Have you noticed any significant improvements, besides the ones mentioned above? Please let us know in the comments section below.
