Moto G Android 4.4.4 Update Now Being Pushed to Verizon Users

If you happen to own the Verizon Moto G, then you should keep an eye on the notifications bar as Big Red revealed they are now rolling out the Moto G Android 4.4.4 OTA update.

As usual, the Moto G Android 4.4.4 update is being rolled out in stages, which means that some of you might not be able to download and install it right away. Once your Motorola Moto G becomes eligible to receive the new firmware update, you should be able to see a system update message in the notification bar. Tap on it, choose download, then select install after the download is completed.

In case the system update notification failed to show up, you would also want to check for the Android 4.4.4 OTA update manually under Settings > About phone > System updates > Check now.

Because all the KitKat specific goodies such as transparent status and nav bars, white status bar icons, immersive mode, cloud printing, new Location menu, full screen album and movie art in the lock screen, or color emoji support were patched in the previous Moto G KitKat updates, the new Android 4.4.4 update only arrives with minor changes. According to the official changelog, the new software arrives with improved camera picture quality, ability to pause video recordings, and usability improvements to phone dialer.

Since Moto G has skipped Android 4.4.3 and got updated straight to Android 4.4.4, the new firmware update also integrates the new Phone Dialer with card-based interface and redesigned color scheme for the dialer itself, along with the slightly revised People app.

Are there any Verizon Motorola Moto G owners reading this? Have you guys received the Android 4.4.4 update on your devices? Please let your fellow Moto G owners know in the comments section below.

Aaaaand Verizon prepaid got 4g.. So yes you can get the iPhone 5 and 5s/c on prepaid. Or ANY 4g smartphone Verizon has released; the catch: you still have to purchase a 10.00 Sim card, and if you’re on the 45.00 plan now, you’ll have to put down another 45.00(the 4g compatible version) to make the 4g phones work.

Don’t update your phone. I did this yesterday and now my phone won’t switch on as it has affected the battery. Have tried all the work arounds for this but so far nothing has worked!!!

Yup, just got the update two or three hours ago. Won’t do a lot of good though, just purchased the old iPhone 4s from eBay am hour before the update came through.

I have had the update do 24 hours now. After 3 restarts I’m still finding issues with sounds. At first I only noticed that my text notifications were not working. So I changed apps 3 different times. They work for a few minutes them not a sound. Today I was driving with Google maps. It wasn’t giving me voice directions. So I decided to turn on Accessibility Mode to see if that would give me the voice. But that didn’t help until I turned it back off. Someone screwed up and I’m very unhappy.

Update fine except one vital flaw. All texting apps crash.

I’m holding off for now. Too many trouble reports.

Works fine but the update is very minor, can’t see the difference in camera quality
