When Motorola was acquired by Google, everyone expected them to keep their devices updated and even jump to stock AOSP Android, though it wasn’t actually true. Motorola Atrix HD users have been waiting for an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for some time and today the company released a major OTA update which made all of them hope. But it’s not their lucky day, unfortunately, as the update is not Jelly Bean.
The Motorola Atrix HD update is version 77.12.22 and comes with some really nice improvements to security, gaming, battery life, WiFi connectivity and camera. While these sound like major updates, they might not be notified at all by most users, as they are mostly bug fixes and improvements, which can’t be spotted right away. Also, there’s no difference to the Android OS or UI.
The OTA update is already being rolled, but if you still didn’t get the notification, you might have to wait for a while, as it’s not available for everyone at the same time. Though if you want to make sure, head over to Settings > About Phone > System Updates and check if there’s any update for you.
If you didn’t get the update or are already on another custom ROM and you can’t install OTA updates, then we will write a guide for you to manually download and update your Motorola Atrix HD to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean 77.12.22.
Hopefully Motorola will be able to roll out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Atrix HD soon, as the users are eager to get their hands on it and it’s been months since Google released it.
Please let us know if you got the update and are satisfied with it. Or do you prefer to stick with a custom ROM instead ?
