Next-gen Nexus 7 Running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Pays Bluetooth SIG a Vist

It seems that we don’t have to wait much longer until we’ll get to see a new Nexus 7 tablet model on the market as a Nexus 7 device built by Asus and that runs Android 4.3 jas just been spotted in the Bluetooth SIG logs.

As you can see in the screenshot down below, the filing is dated May 27 and it comes along with some very intriguing details. The document itself does not specify the device’s name as being the Nexus 7, though it says that it’s a 7-inch tablet, and it also have a model number that we are familiar with, namely ME370T.

This model number is also featured by the original Nexus 7, thus it could mean that all the previous reports might actually be accurate and a new Nexus 7 version will be launched soon, some supply chain sources claiming that the new Nexus 7 release date will be sometime in July. According to the rumors, the Asus Nexus 7will sport LTPS panels and will have a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1200. Also, the handset will be allegedly powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor.

While this is certainly good news, it’s not the only interesting detail about the device. The Bluetooth SIM filing also specifies that the Nexus 7 runs a new software that has the version number JWR11. We’re not quite sure we’re talking about Android 4.3, but the software is definitely new, one that is not yet featured by any other Nexus devices. There are several Android 4.3 build that have been spotted in various server longs, and a new iteration of Google’s operating system is highly awaited, especially after the company has let everybody down at its I/O event when the officials have not even mentioned a new Android version.

However, a couple of days ago a Nexus 4 has been spotted running Android 4.3 at Thailand Mobile Expo. Someone even managing to record a small video showing the new camera UI.

If we put all things together, it means that there is a pretty big chance that the next generation Nexus 7 will be available for purchase as of July. Google will probably announce the device a few weeks earlier, thus we can expect the Nexus 7 to be unveiled next month, as well as Android 4.3.
