Even though we are 100% sure that the Nexus 5 won’t be unveiled at Google I/O 2013 event that is scheduled to open its gates for the public on May 15, a leaked photo that might reveal the design of the next-gen Nexus smartphone has leaked on the web courtesy of @evleaks.
LG managed to make a good impression on the smartphone business especially with its latest terminals, the LG Optimus G, Optimus G Pro and the Nexus 4 that was co-developed with Google. The leaked photo reveals an LG smartphone which might be the Nexus 5 or the Optimus G2.
The image above pictures what it seems to be a high-end LG smartphone, which makes us believe that the South Korea-based company still has a lot of products to unveil this year. Regarding the picture that hit the web courtesy of @evleaks, we are dealing with a smartphone that packs a big display (most likely a 5-inch panel) and an extremely thin bezel.
What made us believe that we’re dealing with the next-gen Nexus smartphone is that the front panel doesn’t accommodate any physical or capacitive buttons, which coincides with Google’s philosophy on how the Android-powered smartphones should be controlled.
On the other hand, we might be looking at the LG Optimus G2 terminal, a smartphone that leaked several times until now, being spotted in benchmark logs.
Personally, I believe that the smartphone pictured above is the LG Optimus G2 and the LG branding on front panel is the detail that gives it away. This is the smartphone we might be able to see in flesh at IFA Berlin 2013 in September. Just like it happened last year the Optimus G2 will serve as based for the development of Nexus 5, which will be reportedly announced in October when Google will celebrate Android’s 5th birthday.
