As of yesterday, the Nexus 5 can be purchased directly from the Indian Google Play Store. Even though the Android 4.4 KitKat-powered smartphone didn’t hit the Indian Play Store right so soon after the launch, some local retailers got it in their portfolio a few days after the official announcement. Let’s have a look at Nexus 5’s price and availability on the Indian market.
As you probably know Google sells its Nexus devices through Play Store in only a handful of countries, but India is now one of them. In the Asian country the Nexus 5 can also be purchased from LG’s retails stores, but the price is a bit higher.
In the Indian Google Play Store the Nexus 5 is available in both white and black, with either 16 or 32 GB storage. The 16 GB model has a price of Rs. 28,999 but, unfortunately, it’s already out of stock and we can’t tell you when Google will bring it back in. The 32 GB model is still available for purchase, at a price of Rs. 32,999, shipping in 1-2 days.
In the LG brick-and-mortar stores the Nexus 5 is priced Rs. 29,990, but, as I was mentioning above, they only have the 16 GB variant.
In case you don’t want to make a trip to the store to pick up the Nexus 5 yourself, we are sad to announce you that you don’t have an alternative. At most online retailers, including Flipkart, Snapdeal, and Infibeam, the Nexus 5 is listed as “Coming soon” with no word on the time of arrival.
Nexus 5 specs? I’m glad you asked. It comes with a 5-inch True HD IPS Plus screen with 1080 x 1920 resolution, quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor at 2.3 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 16/32 GB storage, 8 MP primary camera with OIS, and 1.3 MP user-facing camera.
The handset is 137.9 mm tall, 69.2 mm wide, 8.6 mm thin, weighs 130 grams, and it’s kept alive by a non-removable Li-Po 2,300 mAh battery.
