Nova Launcher 2.3 Hits Beta Stage, KitKat Flavor Added
Nova Launcher is one of the most popular and one of the best Android home launchers, now it has reached the version 2.3. Its latest build borrows features, elements and looks from Android 4.4, so that you’ll be able to get a taste of KitKat even on older Android OS editions.
Since this is the first Beta stage of Nova Launcher 2.3, the developer has decided that you need to register for testing and using this app. There is no official release date set for the final Nova Launcher 2.3 build, but it shouldn’t more than a month before everything will set and ready to be released. At the moment, the Android 4.4 KitKat transparent nav bar works only with Nexus 5, Moto X devices and, possibly, it has been reported that it should work with Touchwiz-based devices too.
The Nova Launcher 2.3 Beta 1 build can be downloaded from the developer’s web page.
If you want to get the latest news on features and components that are to be added in future releases, then you can join the Nova Launcher Beta Google+ Community. Those who want to receive updates for Beta builds will need to opt-in here.
Main features of Nova Launcher 2.3 Beta 1 are as following: KitKat scroll Indicator, KitKat folders, KitKat font, KitKat app drawer, Transparent system bars on KitKat, Transparent nav bar for Moto X, Drawer tab indicator scroll during tab change, Drawer scroll indicator is relative to current tab, Backup / Restore from external sdcard, Fast scroll for vertical app drawer and tons of other fixes or optimizations.
