The O2 users of the Sony Xperia T handsets can now update their smartphones to latest Android OS, the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 system, as the OTA firmware can be applied as we speak. This is not coming as a surprise because we all know that yesterday Sony announced that the Android 4.1.2 software will be made available for the O2 branded Xperia T devices.
The update brings the new Jelly Bean flavor to your phone, along with the usual bug fixes and minor improvements. Furthermore, Sony decided to release a new music player, gallery, video apps and some tweaks to the stock launcher, all being included in the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 OTA update. Therefore, by applying the firmware on your Sony Xperia T you will flash the default Android upgrades along with Sony’s own goodies.
The ROM is already available, so if you have the O2 Xperia T, go to “Settings -> About -> Software Updates“ and check if the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 OS is there. If not, don’t panic, because the firmware will arrive sooner or later, just temporarily check for the same. Of course there will be a manual method developed soon, so if you want to install the software by yourselves wait for the suitable step by step guide.
That’s all for now, but do tell us whether you have received the OTA update or not. Also, tell us how do you find the new OS and if the improvements are satisfying enough for you. Don’t forget that you can anytime learn how to update your Xperia T with a custom ROM firmware by using one of our tutorials (search through our how to section).
