The first Jelly Bean version for the Sony Xperia T has been rolled out, and now you should receive in the upcoming days the official Notification from Sony.
It is the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware with the update version number 9.1.A.0.489 which will install the Google Now, the Project Butter and all the new improved notifications along with tons of Sony-based apps and software.
The update has been released in Holland and, it should hit all the other worldwide regions next week. It has been featured for the first time on other web sites after a week since the Alpha variant was shown. The final build of Android 4.1.2 JB reached the first Xperia T devices today.
When it was launched in September 2012, the Xperia T rolled out with the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich despite the fact that the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean was already launched months earlier. This made numerous users complain since it took Sony almost 5 months for this update to reach one of their best devices. This build of Android 4.1.2 JB for Xperia T works on the 3.4.0 kernel and it should improve its overall performance.
There aren’t any reports indicating the battery life of Xperia T running this new Android OS, but it is expected for it to be lower than it was for the Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0.4. We will try to test the phone and come up with numbers so that you’ll get a better idea before updating your device.
This is the first device in the Xperia-series to receive the Android 4.1.2 JB treatment. The next devices to receive the update in February – March 2013 are the Sony Xperia TX and Xperia V. March – April will see the Xperia P, Xperia J and Xperia Go devices, while the Xperia S, Xperia SL, Xperia Ion and Xperia Acro S should be the last devices to get the Android 4.1.2 JB update. However, it seems like the other devices of Xperia-series Xperia U, Xperia Miro, Xperia Tipo and Xperia Sola will remain on the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Update your Sony Xperia T LT30p and then tell us in comments which are its best new features.
