The Galaxy S4 is the latest flagship smartphone built by Samsung and the company expects that it will become the best-selling Android handset in history. While the eager customers are waiting for the device to finally be release on the market so that they could be able to purchase it, the developer community has been waiting for something else. With only a few days until the launch of the Galaxy S4, the manufacturer has launched the official firmware for model number GT-I9500.
The handset is running the latest Android version which currently is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and comes along with the company’s own TouchWiz Nature 2.0 user interface. The company has released the official Galaxy S4 official firmware only in China for now, but we expect that the software to be available in other regions, as well.
By releasing the official Galaxy S4 firmware Samsung will allow developers to create new kernels and ROMs. This way all the users who don’t like the stock Android version will have the possibility to install whatever software they want on their smartphone. Those of you who are curious you can check the software and download it from Sam Mobile.
Most users will install a custom ROM probably because they don’t like Samsung TouchWiz UI, or simply because they want to customize the Galaxy S4 in order to please their needs. Are you one of these individuals, or you’re going to stick to the stock Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean that comes along with the smartphone.
