Samsung has launched the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA Update for the LTE variant of International Galaxy S3. The update has been spotted in Poland first, as users based there are now able to update their devices via Samsung KIES. ‘Over-the-air’ update files should arrive later today in other regions, too.
Android 4.4.2 KitKat has the build number set to N9005XXUENA6 and it is being pushed out only for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE. It brings several minor user interface improvements, the notification / status bar icons are now white just like the ones that were first presented with KitKat and Nexus devices. Better and smoother performance for all areas of your device, higher benchmark scores, locksscreen tweaks have been added along with a brand new camera shortcut that you can press in order to launch faster the smartphone’s camera app.
Only the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE model number N9005 is supported by this update, don’t get your hopes too high if you own US carrier-based model, as it might take a while before the new firmware update will reach them.
Only the Poland-based owners of Galaxy Note 3 LTE are now capable of installing the new update via Samsung KIES. The official OTA N9005XXUENA6 update should arrive in the next few days for other regions.
The build date of XXUENA6 Android 4.4.2 KitKat is set for January 9th, which means that Samsung got great results while testing it and decided to release it only 4 days after its initial starting test date. If you want to get this update on your Note 3 LTE, then you can use the USB data cable and verify for new files using the Samsung KIES software. Make sure that the Samsung USB Drivers are installed on your computer.
