Qualcomm Posts the List of Devices Compatible with Quick Charge

Even though there are a coupe of software implementations for quick battery charge, most of them are integrated in the Android custom ROMs, these solutions are nowhere near the real value and applicability of the technology developed by Summit Microelectronics, a company that was acquired by the Qualcomm giant.

On the latest Qualcomm platforms, based on the Snapdragon S4 chipset that is using Krait architecture, the US-based chipset manufacturer wanted to show the world that its solutions are one of the most battery friendly ones around. For this reason, the chipset is manufactured using the latest technologies, packing new functions meant to improve the usability ratio.

We are talking about both the dual-core Snapdragon S4 platform, used inside smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S3 (US variants) or HTC One S, but also about the quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chipsets, fitted on devices like Nexus 4 or Sony Xperia Z.

Just like its name suggests, the Quick Charge function is lowering the time required for the battery of the smartphone integrating the technology to be fully charged. As most of the batteries available on the devices in this segment are passing the 1,500 mAh threshold, a full charge of the battery might be very frustrating in terms of waiting times.

Courtesy of the Qualcomm technology, which promises an improvement of 40%, the recharging process will take under two hours, of course, depending on the battery capacity.

If your terminal is in the list below, that was posted by Qualcomm yesterday, you should know that you don’t have to do anything special to benefit from the Quick Charge function as it was already implemented on your device.
