A new report is indicating that the Taiwan-based phone maker might be ready to introduce a red HTC One M8 model. The source claims that the new color options might be headed to Verizon Wireless’ stores.
Even though the HTC One M8 is currently available in three body colors, early reports suggested that the handset will get five colors: silver, dark grey, gold, blue, and red. New information about the Glamour Red model surfaced online courtesy of @evleaks, a reliable source when it comes to reports about unannounced devices, especially HTC’s.
Usually, when evleaks tweets about unannounced devices he also provides photo proof to sustain his claims, but this time it’s missing entirely. There’s no release date for the red Verizon HTC One M8 either, so we can’t say exactly how much we’ll have to wait until we get to see the new model in flesh.
Anyway, it’s not surprising at all to hear that HTC has a Glamour Red One M8 in the works, because the Taiwanese company also launched a Glamour Red HTC One M7, which was well-received by most users. Last year, when the Glamour Red One M7 was launched it only arrived at Sprint, but it looks like HTC changed their strategy as they plan to offer the Glamour Red One M8 to Verizon this time.
Aside of the body color, the red HTC One M8 will be identical to its silver, dark gray, and golden brothers: quad-core 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 1080p 5.0-inch screen, 2 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB storage, microSD, Dual 4 MP UltraPixel Camera, 2,600 mAh battery, Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sense 6.0, and all the connectivity features worthy of a modern smartphone including LTE, WiFi, NFC, IR blaster, Bluetooth 4.0, and microUSB 2.0.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to verify the veracity of the rumor, so, as usual, we are advising you to take it with a pinch of salt as nothing is official until HTC says so.
