While some mobile operators have already offered the Samsung Galaxy S4 for pre-order, there are still a few weeks until the smartphone will hit the store shelves. However, it seems that the guys from the Xda-developers forum have already come up with a root method for the company’s best device.
The members of the Xda-developers forum have posted a set of instructions that can be used by the future Samsung Galaxy S4 owners to root the handset when they will receive it. Nevertheless, this method won’t work on all the Galaxy S4 models as it’s especially meant for the GT-I9500, which is the Exynos 5 Octa powered version, in fact. As for the Snapdragon 600 variant, which will be available in most selected markets, there isn’t any custom ROM available for it yet, nor a method to root it.
Bear in mind that the rooted ROM for the Exynos 5 Octa Galaxy S4 is not stable and we do not recommend installing it. Installing a custom ROM is a very tricky business, and if you choose to do it anyway, you do it on your own risk. In case anything happens to your smartphone, you will be the only one responsible.
However, if you consider yourself a risk-taking person, make sure that you follow all the necessary steps with great care. Also, those of you who have done this before already know that backing up your data is a must. For those if you who haven’t rooted a smartphone before you can follow these instructions.
Knowing that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will come running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean right out of the box, will you still root the device and install a custom ROM?
