Rugged Galaxy S4 Active Rumored; Release Date set for July

Do you love the Galaxy S4? Well, if the recent rumors will turn out to be true, then you will actually forget the classic S4 and go for the rugged version of the same, as apparently Samsung is preparing to release the Galaxy S4 Active. The Active should be the rugged, waterproof version of the GS4 meaning that you will get the same performances (in specs and features matter) under a Galaxy Xcover 2-like case. Of course, the design should be similar with the Xcover too, though maybe it will be better to see a more appealing handset with the same resistance capabilities.

Anyway, don’t forget that these are still rumors; it’s true that SamMobile already confirmed that the rugged Galaxy S4 Active is real and also coming in July, but there are still no official words coming from Samsung. Furthermore, the Active is not the only similar variant of the Galaxy S4 to be manufactured, as the Galaxy S4 Mini (this is official and confirmed) and the Galaxy S4 Zoom (which is supposed to be Samsung’s first camera phone) are being already announced (the first) and rumored (the second).

Now, according to our sources, the Galaxy S4 Active will be released sometime during July (week 29 to be more precise) so we don’t have the exact date. There are still no words about the specs and features list therefore we can’t be sure whether the rugged S4 will be similar in performances with the classic SGS4 or not. Of course, if Samsung will choose to keep the same high end smartphone but on a waterproof and dustproof suit, then do expect to see the S4 Active released on a really expensive price tag.

The phone will apparently be offered in Metallic Orange and will first be available in Europe. The future market availability is still unknown, so that’s quite all we could find out about the rugged version of the Galaxy S4. Do share your impressions about this (rumored) device with us and tell us if you are considering in buying such a smartphone.

If they actually make a full-size, full performance version only rugged, then I’m interested, no matter what it costs.
