I know that the “next big thing” is the main attraction this week, as it will be unveiled later today. However, even if the Galaxy S4 is putting a shadow over the rest of the Samsung devices, this doesn’t mean that they don’t exist. I don’t know if you guys have heard about it, but today we’re going to talk about the Samsung Galaxy Fame. The handset was announced at the beginning of February, along with the Galaxy Young.
The Galaxy Fame has become available for purchase i two European countries namely in Germany and Romania. While the German users are able to buy the handset from Amazon Germany for a price starting at €196,60 (about $255), the Romanian people should be happy to hear that in their country the Galaxy Fame is sold for a considerably smaller price, 719 RON for it (€164, or $214).
One thing you should know is that we’re talking about the Samsung Galaxy Fame S6810. It mustn’t be confused with the dual SIM variant of the handset, nor with the NFC capable version, namely the S6810P.
In case you are not familiar with the device’s specs, the Galaxy Fame comes with a 3.5-inch screen with a pixel resolution of 480 x 320, and it’s powered by a single-core 1GHz CPU. It also includes 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of on-board storage space which can be expanded via microSd card, a 5 MP rear-facing camera with LED flash and a VGA secondary snapper placed in the front, and a 1,300 mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone features Wi-Fi Direct, HSPA, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, Samsung Hub, Samsung S Cloud. Of course, the Galaxy Flame is running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean right out of the box along with Samsung-based TouchWiz Motion UI.
Naturally, the phone will be available in other regions of Europe as well, but we still don’t know which ones exactly, neither the exact release date. The sure thing is that it will arrive in the UK, with Three already announced that it will be the first carrier to offer it.
