The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 only debuted on the European market a week ago, but the Korean company already started to push the first OTA firmware update for the 5.7-inch smartphone.
While OTA update for Galaxy Note 3 will let the Android version unchanged its main purpose is to bring improved stability, as reported in the official Samsung update advisory.
The firmware update weighs 30 MB, so I can say it’s safe for you to download it using your data plan. It’s also worth noting that the N9005XXUBMJ1 for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is only available for the LTE-friendly unlocked handsets. As I was mentioning above the software update is still using the Andorid 4.3 platform, with the build number labelled JS15J.
For the time being there’s no information about any changes performed to the Galaxy Note 3 region-locking.
In case you don’t know it already I remind you that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 boasts about a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, while being powered by a Snapdragon 800 chispet with quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU. The Note 3 technical specs list also includes 3 GB of RAM, 32/64 GB microSD-expandable storage, a feature-packed 13 MP camera with 4K and 1080p@60fps video recording, and all the connectivity features worthy of a modern smartphone: LTE, all standards of WiFi, NFC, IR blaster, Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, and microUSB 3.0.
The terminal leaves the factory gates pre-loaded with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, customized with Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz Nature UX interface.
