I know that the Galaxy S4 is the most anticipated device coming from Samsung, but this doesn’t mean that we should leave the rest of the handsets aside. For example, the Galaxy Note 8 is an upcoming tablet that is supposed to be strong rival for Apple’s iPad Mini. It seems that we don’t have to wait much longer for it as it’s preparing to be on its way soon.
According to Bulgarian publication tablet.bg, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is set to be available for purchase in late-March. To leave all doubts aside, the mentioned website has provided other rumors about devices that weren’t launched, and they proved to be right. Of course, previous reports said that the tablet would be release on February 19th and the were wrong, bu this one makes sense because it’s the same period when the Galaxy S4 is supposed to go public.
But, the website offers other pieces of information, not just the release date. For instance, the pricing will be BGN 699 (around €359), so it seems that the Galaxy Note 8 won’t be cheaper than the iPad Mini as expected, Apple’s tablet being priced around €349. These are the prices for the Wi-Fi only and 16GB of internal storage versions of both tablets, while the Galaxy Note 8 with 3G support will reportedly be priced at €449. Again, a little for cheaper than the iPad Mini which costs €429.
If the news will come true, then the US version of the Galaxy Note 8 will probably have the price tag starting at $350, which seems a pretty high price comparing it to the iPad Mini which is $20 cheaper (and Apple always overprices its devices just because they’re white and shiny). So, $350 for a Samsung tablet seems a little bit too much.
However, if we are to believe the rumors about the hardware of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the price seems to be justified. According to previous reports, Samsung’s new tablet will come packing an Exynos quad-core 1.6 GHz processor, an 8-inch display with a pixel resolution of 1280 x 800, 2 GB of RAM, support for S-Pen stylus, microSD card slot, two cameras (a 5MP one and a 1.3MP one). Pretty impressive for an 8-inch device, don’t you think?
The hardware sported by the iPad Mini isn’t even worth mentioned, lets just say that it’s a long way behind Samsung. So yes, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be a little cheaper than the iPAd Mini, but it makes sense.
I know that you guys probably think that Android tablets suck, but take a look at the specs and think about what you’re spending your money on.
