Samsung Galaxy S3 is definitely one of the most expected smartphones nowadays and there is a plethora of rumors about its release date. Samsung’s old Galaxy S and S2 have been extremely popular and managed to top 30 million sales world-wide.
A press release announcement photo has been leaked on April 5th and it suggests a Samsung event on May 22nd, where the Galaxy S3 should be announced. While we don’t have any clear information yet and only rumors, we can speculate the new Galaxy S3’s specs.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Specs
Considering the current hardware and that the new Galaxy S3 will come at the same price as the S and S2, it should feature a 4.65-inch Super Amoled HD display, a 1.5Ghz quad-core Exynos CPU, 1GB of RAM. It will probably come in 32GB and 64GB versions, be slimmer and sport a higher capacity battery, of around 2,000 mAh. Samsung’s new Galaxy S3 will most likely come with Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
Other rumors talk about an up to 5-inch display, more RAM and even a Tegra 3 or 4 CPU, though it’s very unlikely, because it would increase the device’s price tag. Also I don’t believe Samsung needs one more device in the 5-inch range, considering they already have the Galaxy Note. And Tegra 4 is very unlikely because we don’t even have any information about it and neither a release date.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Release Date
Two days ago we reported a new rumor that it might still come with a physical home button, though we are not pretty sure it will be true. The report indicates that Samsung’s board based their decision on the fact that Galaxy S-series users got used to the physical button present on the previous two versions. The new rumor also suggests that the release date will be sometime in May.
Though we don’t have any certain information, it’s possible for the Samsung Galaxy S3 to hit England’s stores in May, followed by the rest of Europe very soon and the United States in early June.
