Samsung announced and presented officially their new Galaxy S3 in London at the Samsung Unpacked EVENT and it packs several new software features and hardware improvements. Release date has been set for late May and all the other price, specs and it will pack the Android 4.0.4.
The new Galaxy represents the 3rd generation series for Samsung and it is the successor of Samsung Galaxy S2. It comes with numerous hardware improvements, as well as some new specific Android software features that are currently supported only by it. Here’s a list of the main features and hardware tweaks added to Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone: 4.8″ 720p HD Super AMOLED display, 1GB RAM, 1.4 GHz Exynos 4412 Quad-Core CPU for International models, while the US edition packs a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, microSD card slot that support up to 64GB , S-Voice which is a rival for Siri, 2100 mAH battery with support for wireless charging via dock hardware, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi Direct, Android 4.0.4, Flipboard etc.
Smart Stay is a new service and function that will be featured on SGS3 and it is in fact an Eye Tracking Technology, which does exactly what it says, it tracks your eyes and alter the display brightness whenever you’re no longer looking at it. Also, S Voice is an advanced voice recognition software that should become a strong competitor for Siri, the iPhone voice recognition software counterpart. For the moment Samsung Galaxy S3 has only been presented and hardware confirmed. Android 4.0.4 ICS is its default OS. Pricing, at the moment, has been set only for UK as it can be purchased for free but with a 2 year contract that will cost users 40 pounds per month.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 will be the default device for London 2012 Summer Olympics and it should be available for worldwide markets starting with late May.
