Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy S4 Mini and Galaxy S4 Zoom announced officially at Premiere 2013 Event

The Samsung Premiere 2013 Event concluded an hour ago and the South Korean company shown for the first time 3 new versions of the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone: the Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S4 Active and the Galaxy S4 Zoom. All will be available for purchase soon.

All these variants are based on the original Samsung Galaxy S4 device and Samsung hopes that users who don’t want to pay that much for the flagship model, then they might want to choose another variant of the device and buy it.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is a bulked up version of the stock Galaxy S4. It is dust proof and water resistant, as it can be submerged for 30 minutes 1 meter deep and it will survive. The camera of the Galaxy S4 Active phone features the ‘aqua mode’ which is a software that will improve the look of underwater pictures. Also, while underwater you can use the volume buttons to take pictures, while the touch screen won’t work, obviously.

It’s a device destined for more active persons and it should your new companion for when you’ll be hiking, running and performing more outdoors activities.

The Galaxy S4 Active packs a 1.9 GHz Snapdragon 600 Quad-core CPU, 5 inch Full HD TFT display, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage expandable up to 64GB via microSD, 8MP camera with all Galaxy S4 functions and more, 2600 mAh battery and the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. This model shouldn’t cost that much as it doesn’t pack any of the latest hardware specs that were launched with the latest 2013 devices.

Finally, the Galaxy S4 Zoom is the first Android phone that is packing a 10x optical zoom lens. This is mainly a photo / video camera packed full with smartphone capabilities. It features an optical image stabilizer that should offer you the possibility to take better low light pictures and video, more stable shots and better video recordings. It features a backside illuminated 16MP sensor with a standard xenon flash.
