Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, and Galaxy Note 3 to Get Android 4.3 by the End of the Year, Shows Leaked Roadmap

Samsung 4.3 Update

It was rumored before that Samsung will start updating its smartphones to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean as of October and now we have the confirmation from a leaked roadmap coming from Frech carrier SFR.

It’s no surprise to see that the Korean phone maker has chosen the Samsung Galaxy S4 to be its first smartphone to receive the Android 4.3 update as it’s company’s latest flagship released on the market. According to the aforementioned roadmap, the Samsung Galaxy S4 will get updated to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean this October.

The document also indicates that both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be updated to Android 4.3. As things stay the Android 4.3 update for the two aforementioned devices will be rolled out sometime in November – December time frame.

Well, Samsung’s plans regarding the Android 4.3 update schedule revealed by SFR’s roadmap also check with Samsung Canada’s claims that all three handsets will receive the latest Android version (excluding Android 4.4 KitKat, of course) by the end of the year.

As always, the Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, and Galaxy Note 2 units purchased from the US carriers will not receive the Android 4.3 update right away, as the carriers will take additional time to optimize the firmware update for their networks.

Even though there’s no official word on the Android 4.3 update for Samsung devices, we are expecting it to bring some of Galaxy S4′s features on the Galaxy S3 and Note 2, along with some of Galaxy Note 3′s features on the Galaxy S4, plus compatibility with Galaxy Gear.

Samsung Galaxy S3 was released in May 2012 running Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box and it boasts about an HD 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display, 8 MP camera with 1080p@30fps video recording, 16/32/64 GB of storage and quad-core 1.4 GHz Exynos 4 Quad / dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcom Snapdragon S4 CPU plus 1/2 GB of RAM, market dependent.

On the other hand the Galaxy Note 2 came pre-loaded with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and boasted about a 5.5-inch 720 x 1280 Super AMOLED display, 2 GB of RAM, the same 8 MP camera, and quad-core Exynos 4 Octa processor clocked at 1.6 GHz.

The Galaxy S4 is Samsung’s flagship smartphone for 2013 and it comes with a 5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, quad-core 1.9 GHz Snapdragon 600 / octo-core 1.6 GHz Exynos 5 Octa CPU, 2 GB of RAM, 16/32/64 GB of internal storage, and a feature-packed 13 MP camera.
