Samsung Galaxy S4 GPE Android 4.4.3 Update Now Rolling out

The Android 4.4.3 update for Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition is now being rolled out to users. The new update arrives just a couple of days after it was pushed to the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013 owners.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 GPE Android 4.4.3 update arrives with a new Phone dialer app that introduces a card-based interface for the favorite contacts section and a new color scheme for the phone dialer itself, along with bug fixes and stability and performance improvements.

As usual, the Android 4.4.3 update for Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition is being rolled out in stages, meaning that it may take several days until it reaches all users. Once your Galaxy S4 GPE unit gets the green light to get the Android 4.4.3 update you should receive a system update message in the notification area. Tap on it, choose download, wait until the file is downloaded, choose install, then the update will be automatically applied on your device.

If the system update message hasn’t popped up on your device, you should also check for the update manually under Settings > About phone > System updates > Check now.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 GPE Android 4.4.3 update has build number KTU84L and has a weight of around 156 MB. Because of its size, we recommend you to use a stable WiFi connection while downloading the update file in order to avoid unwanted data charges. It’s also recommended to have at least 50% battery so your smartphone won’t turn off while the update is applied.

Are there any Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition owners reading this? Have you guys received the Android 4.4.3 update? Have you noticed any changes asides the ones we’ve mentioned above? Please let your fellow Galaxy S4 GPE owners know in the comments section below.

My S3 had the capability of using wifi when available and kick in Data when wifi was not availble. It would always switch to wifi and use it first. My S4 seems to be able to use either wifi or data but doesn’t switch like the S3 did. It is either one or the other. Is there a way to get the same capability from the S3 for my S4?
