The Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One will definitely two of the best selling Android smartphones of 2013. The two smartphones didn’t hit the the store shelves yet, not to mention being available for purchase via carriers. It seems though that the Canadians at Rogers have set the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One release date for mid April.

The folks at TechnoBufallo have word from an anonymous source that the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One will debut at Rogers on April 19th, making the Canada-based carrier to first one in the world to start selling the two highly-appreciated smartphones.

The same source says that with a three-year agreement with Rogers you will be able to get your hands on the Samsung Galaxy S4 for $169, while the HTC One is $20 cheaper, with a price tag of $149. Of course, the prices are not official, so it would be wiser to expect until the Canadian carrier makes an announcement before jumping into conclusions.

It seems that Rogers will also be among the carriers to have the Sony Xperia Z on stock. The Sony flagship smartphone will hit the Canadian operator on April 7-9 at a price of $99 on contract.

As about the Samsung Galaxy S4 hitting other carriers, the earliest release date confirmed so far was for the UK market, when it will reportedly become available for purchase on April 26.

Regarding the Samsung Galaxy S4 availability in US, the new flagship smartphone of the South Korean company is already available for pre-order at AT&T and US Cellular, while T-Mobile will start shipping it as of May 1st.

In case you forgot we remind you that the Samsung Galaxy S4 boasts a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD resolution, has 2 GB of RAM, 13 megapixel camera and is running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. I don’t like the fact that they come out with a new phone every year, but only have 3-year contracts on them, so I get the S3 (16GB/LTE) new when it comes out, then 6 months later there is the S4, then a year later there’s the S5. It would be nice if phones had more video game-like technology that only needed to touched up every few years. You basically have to have the newest phones to really take advantage of the higher speed internets and the product updates, hell I haven’t had a LTE signal yet on my phone, and they are gonna zoom past LTE into some other nonsense soon enough.

I swear to God I saw the HTC One in a shop the other day in Germany, it was around 650 Euro unlocked. So Rogers Canada being worlds first can’t be true..

For some reason all the articles I see talk about Rogers as the only carrier, but there are other carriers like telus, virgin and bell that have it available http://www.bell.ca/Mobility/Products/HTC-One, yes all ask for a 3-yr contract ;(
