The Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One will definitely two of the best selling Android smartphones of 2013. The two smartphones didn’t hit the the store shelves yet, not to mention being available for purchase via carriers. It seems though that the Canadians at Rogers have set the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One release date for mid April.
The folks at TechnoBufallo have word from an anonymous source that the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One will debut at Rogers on April 19th, making the Canada-based carrier to first one in the world to start selling the two highly-appreciated smartphones.
The same source says that with a three-year agreement with Rogers you will be able to get your hands on the Samsung Galaxy S4 for $169, while the HTC One is $20 cheaper, with a price tag of $149. Of course, the prices are not official, so it would be wiser to expect until the Canadian carrier makes an announcement before jumping into conclusions.
It seems that Rogers will also be among the carriers to have the Sony Xperia Z on stock. The Sony flagship smartphone will hit the Canadian operator on April 7-9 at a price of $99 on contract.
As about the Samsung Galaxy S4 hitting other carriers, the earliest release date confirmed so far was for the UK market, when it will reportedly become available for purchase on April 26.
Regarding the Samsung Galaxy S4 availability in US, the new flagship smartphone of the South Korean company is already available for pre-order at AT&T and US Cellular, while T-Mobile will start shipping it as of May 1st.
In case you forgot we remind you that the Samsung Galaxy S4 boasts a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD resolution, has 2 GB of RAM, 13 megapixel camera and is running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. There will be two Galaxy S4 processor variants, market dependent, one packing Samsung’s proprietary octo-core Exynos 5 Octa chipset and another coming with Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 600 SoC clocked at 1.9 GHz.
On the other hand, the HTC One sports a 4.7-inch full HD Super LCD3 display. The smartphone is underpinned by a Snapdragon 600 chipset with four Krait 300 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, 32 or 64 GB of internal storage, and a 4 megapixel camera with UltraPixel technology which involves 1/3” sensor size and 2µm pixel size.
