The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Android 4.3 OTA update is now rolling out at Verizon, and just like it happened with the previous 4.3 firmware updates pushed to the supported Samsung devices, it brings Galaxy Gear support.
Aside of Galaxy Gear support, the Android 4.3 update for Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini brings Samsung KNOX, updated user interface, a handful of new software features, improved performance, better connectivity for Verizon 4G LTE and exchange email server, bug fixes, and, unfortunately, even more Verizon bloatware.
The Android 4.3 update for Samsung Galaxy S4 is being rolled out in stages and it will change your firmware to build number JDQ39.I435VRUAMK5. If you didn’t receive the Android 4.3 update notification yet, you know the drill: head to Settings > About phone > System update > Check for updates and perform a manual check. If this doesn’t work either, it might mean that the JDQ39.I435VRUAMK5 update is not yet ready for your terminal and it will have to wait a few more days.
According to the Galaxy S4 Mini Android 4.3 JDQ39.I435VRUAMK5 update changelog posted on Verizon’s website the new software will bring MyInfoZone widget, VMware, and Verizon Cloud, along with improved Isis Mobile Wallet connectivity, Google Voice prompt timing, and Incoming call displays Picture Me on the screen when using Call Waiting, among others.
The new software update comes just in time for the Christmas shopping season, thus if you owned a Verizon Galaxy S4 and planned to purchase a Galaxy Gear smartwatch you wouldn’t have to worry about compatibility issues now. Anyway, the Android 4.3 update for Galaxy S4 Mini should begin the roll out at other US carriers by the end of December.
Any Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 owners out there? Did you guys receive the Android 4.3 JDQ39.I435VRUAMK5 OTA update? Please inform us in comments.
