You probably are aware of the fact that Samsung has transformed its Galaxy S4 brand into a whole family of smartphones. Besides the flagship handset the Galaxy S4 family also includes devices like the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active (a rugged Galaxy S4 with physical buttons on the front panel and an 8 megapixel camera), the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom (a camera phone that boasts an impressive 16 megapixel camera with 10x optical zoom), the Galaxy S4 Google Edition (an SGS4 variant running stock Android), and the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini (a mid-range affordable smartphone). We will be talking about the later one today.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini was officially announced in May and, for the time being the mid ranger is only available in two body colors: Black and White. Well, a Russian publication has discovered that the Mini version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 will soon receive more body colors.
The Galaxy S4 Mini will soon become available in three more liveries red, brown, and blue, called Scarlet Dawn, Bronze Autumn, and Blue Iceberg, respectively. Of course, the technical specifications of the smartphone will remain unchanged.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini comes with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, while being powered by a Snapdragon 400 SoC with a Dual-core 1.7 GHz Krait CPU and Adreno 305 GPU. The terminal also comes with 1.5 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage, expandable with up to 64 GB via the microSD card slot.
The mid-range smartphone developed by the South Korean phone maker has an 8 megapixel camera mounted on the back with autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama, and support for full HD video recording. The front-facing camera is a 1.9 megapixel unit.
In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy S4 Mini comes with HSDPA, 42 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps; LTE, Cat3, 50 Mbps UL, 100 Mbps DL, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, IR blaster, and microUSB 2.0. The terminal is running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, with Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz Nature UX on top of it and it’s kept alive by a 1,900 mAh battery.
